Wheel & Tire alignment

Wheels out of alignment will contribute to uneven tire wear, poor gas mileage and even dangerous driving conditions. You will notice uneven tread wear if the vehicle starts pulling to the right or left while in motion. Without proper maintenance, wheel alignment issues can evolve into steering and suspension problems.

Why Is Alignment So Important?

Wheel alignments help ensure your tires are angled correctly—level with the ground, pointing straight ahead, and parallel to each other—so they can maintain straight-line tracking. Proper alignment angles will help you maximize the life of your tires. In addition, the handling of your vehicle will be considerably easier. Wheel alignments are arguably the most important aspect of wheel and tire maintenance. Three angles promote proper wheel alignment: toe, caster, and camber. Toe is the measurement between tires. Your tires should be in equal positions and parallel to each other. Caster, or the angle of the steering pivot, permits the wheels to turn along with the steering wheel. Camber is the angle of the wheel, which should be perpendicular to the ground.

What are some signs that you need an alignment?

A vibration, or a sound that increases in pitch as your speed increases is usually an indicator of a tire issue, which can also lead to an alignment problem. If you feel a vibration in the steering wheel at higher speeds or if the vehicle pulls to the right or left, you may have an alignment issue.

In order to prevent the further damage to other parts, bring your vehicle in as soon as possible. We can tell you fairly quickly what the issue is and if there are any other systems affected. Often times, an alignment is all you will need to back on the road quickly and safely.
